Andrew Mitchell

Andrew Mitchell serves as the Chief Analytics and Automation Officer at the Mechanical Licensing Collective (The MLC), where he leads the design and implementation of business intelligence reporting for internal teams and develops strategies and tools for analyzing the usage reporting data The MLC receives from digital service providers in the United States. Andrew also manages The MLC’s manual sound recording and musical works matching processes, a crucial part in ensuring that the rightsholders The MLC serves receive their mechanical royalties from digital services operating under the blanket compulsory license that The MLC administers. Under his leadership, The MLC has achieved industry- leading match rates of over 91 percent for all royalties processed. Additionally, Andrew oversees The MLC’s Supplemental Matching Vendor Network and drives initiatives to strengthen and enhance the organization’s fraud prevention strategies.

With more than 20 years of experience in operational excellence, analytics, business intelligence (BI), automation, process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, and global business transformation, Andrew has a proven track record of driving impactful change. Before joining The MLC, Andrew served as Vice President of Analytics & Process Automation at Warner Music Group, where he played a key role in establishing the company’s award-winning Center of Excellence to enhance operational efficiencies across its U.S.-based labels. In this role, he led teams in developing analytics solutions, managed over 200 process improvement projects, and implemented numerous automated workflows. Prior to that, Andrew spent a decade in financial planning and analysis at Ingram Content Group, a global leader in distribution, print-on-demand manufacturing, and digital content solutions for major book publishers. In 2023, Andrew was honored by the Greater Nashville Technology Council as Innovator of the Year during the 14th Annual NTC Awards. A Nashville native, Andrew is actively involved in his community, volunteering as a mentor at the Nashville Entrepreneur Center and serving as a former board member of the American Cancer Society’s Coaches vs. Cancer event.

Andrew holds an M.B.A. from Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, where he graduated at the top of his class and received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence. He also earned a B.S. in Business from Miami University (Ohio) and a certification in Business Analytics from Harvard Business School.
