Dennis Disney

Dennis Disney is a partner at the law firm of Shrum Disney & Associates in Nashville, Tennessee, where he practices entertainment, intellectual property, commercial law, and defamation law. He advises artists, creators, entrepreneurs, and businesses on contracts, copyright and trademark matters, entity formation, and complex transactions. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation, including breach of contract, defamation, IP disputes, and related actions.

Before entering full-time legal practice, Dennis built a 37-year career as a senior executive in the music, publishing, and entertainment industries, serving as Chief Operating Officer of an artist management firm, Vice President of Marketing at nationally recognized record and publishing companies, and founder of his own strategic marketing and artist management agency. He has overseen projects generating more than $2 billion in retail sales revenue along multiple Gold and Platinum certifications.

Dennis earned his B.B.A from Belmont University, his J.D. from Nashville School of Law, and is admitted to practice in Tennessee and multiple federal courts. He is a member of the Nashville Entertainment and IP Law Inn of Court, the Gospel Music Association, and he volunteers with Volunteer Lawyers and Professionals for the Arts (VLPA) which is part of the Nashville Arts & Business Council. Dennis also serves as legal counsel for the Gospel Music Association and the recently opened Museum of Christian & Gospel Music.
